LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Roger Victory joined fellow Republican leaders for a press conference at the Capitol on Thursday to demand the immediate resignations of Michigan State Police Director Col. James Grady and Deputy Director Lt. Col. Aimee Brimacombe.
A report recently came out accusing Col. Grady of gross patterns of workplace harassment, including blatant favoritism and retaliation. Further, Lt. Col. Brimacombe has misused state resources for personal gain.
This report follows a recent poll of the Michigan State Police Troopers Association where 98% of members voted no when asked if they had confidence in Director Grady and Deputy Director Brimacombe.
“Transparency and accountability are essential here in the state of Michigan,” said Victory, R-Hudsonville. “For our state troopers to be their best, they need strong and honest leaders. Failure of these individuals to lead with integrity erodes the public trust in one of our state’s most respected institutions.”
The press conference highlighted a letter Republican leaders, including Victory, sent to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer demanding the resignation of Grady and Brimacombe or to relieve them of their duties if they fail to comply.
Victory previously served as chair of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety from 2021-22.
