Sen. John Damoose, R-Harbor Springs, joined Gov. Gretchen Whitmer
and local first responders and officials from Cheboygan County for a
press conference to provide area residents with the latest
information regarding the status of the Cheboygan Dam and Lock
Complex, the potential for widespread flooding and emergency
evacuation plans should the "Go" phase of the "Ready, Set, Go"
evacuation plan be reached.
Areas along the river, especially those surrounding the dam, are
currently in the yellow "Set" stage, which means an evacuation is
likely and residents should be packed and ready to go on short
notice.
