LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Mark Huizenga, R-Walker, issued the following statement after hearing of the death of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter:
“I was saddened to hear about the passing of former First Lady Rosalynn Carter. She illustrated that you don’t need to be an elected official or in office to have a tremendous impact on people’s lives. Her work through the Carter Work Project has helped so many people across the globe, and her advocacy on mental health has helped knock down barriers to support and care.
“My wife and I send our thoughts and prayers to President Carter and his family.”
