LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Michael Webber, R-Rochester Hills, and Rep. Mark Tisdel, R-Rochester Hills, on Tuesday spoke during the groundbreaking ceremony for renovations to the Rochester Community House.
The lawmakers were able to secure a $2 million state grant in the state budget to help support improvements that will replace the northern portion of the building with a much larger conference and gathering space, add an improved lookout meeting room and a walkout basement space with a second kitchen, and include new decking, siding and roofing.
“This investment will make the Rochester Community House more open, accessible and available to more residents in our community, while saving local taxpayers money by avoiding the need for the city to bond for these improvements,” Webber said.
