LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Jim Runestad announced that the Appropriations Subcommittee on Military and Veterans Affairs/State Police will meet today, Thursday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. to discuss possible Freedom of Information Act violations by the Michigan State Police.
Subcommittee Chairman Sen. Tom Barrett, Runestad and fellow committee members will be questioning Michigan State Police on the use of an encryption app on state-issued phones and whether or not the use of the app on state phones is in violation of the Freedom of Information Act.
