Bumstead attends Harbor 31 groundbreaking ceremony

LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Jon Bumstead on Thursday spoke at a groundbreaking ceremony for Harbor 31, a waterfront development located in Muskegon.

“The Harbor 31 groundbreaking was the culmination of years of hard work and dedication, and I can’t wait to see all the possibilities that lie ahead,” said Bumstead, R-North Muskegon. “From housing to retail space and public access to Muskegon Lake, Harbor 31 is going to be a wonderful addition to our community and a boost to the economy. My congratulations to everyone involved in this worthwhile project.”

Bumstead was instrumental in advancing the project’s development, having helped secure $2.3 million in grant funding for site contaminant remediation. Additionally, the senator assisted project officials in navigating bureaucratic processes to obtain necessary permits.

According to Harbor 31, the development project, which is located on the shores of Muskegon Lake, will create residential living space as well as provide additional hotel, retail and office space, and a public marina.
