LANSING—Sen. John Proos greeted Greenbush Brewery Director of Operations Jill Sites on Tuesday during the Michigan Brewers Guild’s annual conference in Lansing.
“Local breweries are examples of the American Dream at work. At their core, they are about people having an idea for a better or new product and then starting a small business to make that idea a reality,” said Proos, R-St. Joseph. “Greenbush Brewery is a year-old company that already employs 30 workers and is expanding due to their success. They represent the rewards of hard work, and I was proud to see them in Lansing advocating for their business.”
The Greenbush Brewery is located at 5885 Sawyer Road in Sawyer and offers eight beers and an additional six specialty brews and nine seasonal beers. For more information on the brewery call (269) 405-1076 or visit: www.greenbushbrewing.com.
When the brewery decided to open up a day earlier than scheduled last year, Proos helped secure the proper liquor license in time.
“This is another great Southwest Michigan business that blends our tourism and agriculture industries,” Proos said. “People come to Sawyer to check out these hand-crafted brews and Greenbush uses locally grown goods to help meet their increasing demand.”
