LANSING—Sen. John Proos, R-St. Joseph, volunteered with the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging (SJCCOA) to load trucks for Meals on Wheels and deliver meals in Centreville on Monday.

“I was honored to volunteer with such a fantastic organization that helps provide seniors in Southwest Michigan with quality, healthy meals,” said Proos. “It is heartening to know there are caring, compassionate and considerate people, like Ron Roth and so many others, who generously donate their time and efforts to give back to our community.”

Proos is pictured with truck driver, Ron Roth, and with Christy Trammell, executive director of Three Rivers Chamber, who also helped deliver meals.

After helping load the truck, Proos went out on the road to assist in the delivery of the meals.

“I was pleased to meet Margaret ‘Muggs’ Davenport from Centreville,” Proos said. “She is full of life, and I was happy to help her during my time volunteering for Meals on Wheels.”
