My favorite time of the year is only about a month away – the Fowlerville Family Fair is coming up the week of July 23 through July 28.
There is still plenty of time to get involved as an active participant. In fact, you can still enter open class non-livestock competition, throw your name in the ring for “Homemaker of the Year,” or apply to be selected as the Fowlerville Fair Queen.
Fees are $10 to enter the open class competition and entries are due by Sunday, July 1. Exhibitors receive one gate admission (free entry to the fair all week), and you may enter in as many categories as you wish.
There are wonderful prizes for the person selected as the 2012 Homemaker of the Year. Applications and entry fees for this contest are due by Sunday, July 8. Homemaker of the year is open to all Livingston County residents (male and female) who are 18 years of age and older. To enter, an exhibitor must show in five of the following nine open class categories:
- Baked goods;
- Canned goods;
- Needlecraft; or
Interested in being crowned as the 2012 Fowlerville Family Fair Queen? Single women between the ages of 17-24 can submit an application by Friday, July 13.
For more information, a schedule of events, application forms, and entry guidelines and rules, please visit www.fowlervillefamilyfair.com.
I hope you take this chance to get involved with the fair, but even if you can’t, I hope to see you there!
