Bipartisan sexual assault package sent to governor
June 27, 2023

LANSING, Mich. β€” Sen. Ruth Johnson, R-Holly, issued the following statement after her legislation was enrolled Tuesday as part of a bipartisan package, Senate Bills 66-73, to prevent sexual assault, support survivors and punish offenders β€” sending the bills to the governor to be signed:

β€œI am proud to once again be part of this important package to support sexual assault survivors and protect our children from these heinous acts, and I look forward to finally seeing the reforms signed into law.

β€œWe have been working on many of these measures for a long time β€” spearheaded in response to the sexual assaults committed by former Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar.

β€œIt is great to see such bipartisan support for doing everything possible to protect our children from sexual predators.”
