LANSING— State Sen. Dave Robertson, R-Grand Blanc Township, tonight issued the statement below following Gov. Rick Snyder’s State of the State address.
“Much like last year, Governor Snyder painted a clear picture of the current wellbeing of the state of Michigan and laid out a clear and concise plan for 2012.
“In 2012, the goals of the Legislature will not change. We will be focused on creating the most effective and efficient government possible while creating an economic climate for job creation and growth.
“Last year, Michigan began to reinvent itself as a state. We are currently in the midst of this reinvention, and many long overdue reforms were signed into law last year. However, many of the reforms have not had enough time to take effect. It will be critical in 2012 to measure the results of these reforms and compare the results with intended goals.
“In the coming year, I will work to ensure that tax dollars are being spent wisely and that government approaches all situations with common sense. I am confident that this mindset will create a flourishing economic environment for Michigan.
“I would like to thank the governor for his continued leadership and courage in leading the state of Michigan. I look forward to working with my Senate colleagues, the governor and the House to help move Michigan forward.”
