Sen. Richardville: Agreement reached for SBT replacement
LANSING - In response to the agreement reached for the Single Business Tax replacement, Sen. Randy Richardville, R-Monroe, issued the following statement:
"The Senate, House and administration all worked together to compromise and develop a reasonable replacement for the SBT. Although many different plans were initially proposed, the new replacement incorporates some of the most important features from all the plans.
"My message all along has been that the new business tax had to be finished quickly and make us more attractive to investors. This new business tax makes Michigan more competitive and will help attract businesses. It also provides a long-term solution for economic growth and includes a balanced tax structure. I believe it is a fair and equitable tax that will provide relief to businesses of all sizes in Michigan."
