Sen. Jansen comments on State of the State address
LANSING—After listening to Gov. Rick Snyder’s first State of the State address Wednesday night, state Sen. Mark C. Jansen, R-Gaines Township, issued the following statement:
“I was very excited by the governor’s speech. He has provided some details to flesh out his vision, and the details make a lot of sense: First, jobs and economic development must be our top priority. We have to take the necessary steps to enable job providers to succeed.
“Along with that comes an elimination of the jobs-killing Michigan Business Tax. That’s why I co-sponsored Senate Bill 1, which will repeal the onerous MBT.
“The Michigan Dashboard will enable all Michigan residents to gauge state government’s success. This is the kind of accountability employed by businesses that achieve their desired results.
“Governor Snyder’s call for all of us to work together for the good of the state was inspiring. It’s an exciting time. I think we are turning the corner that we’ve been waiting to turn for a long, long time, and we’re going to see very soon a prosperous return for the state of Michigan.”
