Richardville congratulates Monroe Great Start Parent Coalition for winning prestigious ECIC award

LANSING—Sen. Randy Richardville today announced that the Monroe Great Start Parent Coalition was recognized by the state’s Early Childhood Investment Corporation (ECIC) at the state Capitol today.

The coalition from Monroe received the ECIC’s 2010 Great Start Fierce Heart Award for its outstanding advocacy.

“Congratulations must be given to the Monroe Great Start Parent Coalition for its work on behalf of children and for receiving this prestigious statewide recognition,” said Richardville, R-Monroe. “It’s important that children are taught when they are young. Early education is important, but early parenting is vital.”

Richardville spoke to representatives from Great Start coalitions across the state gathered on the Capitol lawn for their annual “Star Power” rally to promote the importance of early education.

“Sen. Randy Richardville is a longtime advocate of children and early childhood education,” said Matt Gillard, ECIC legislative and policy advisor.
