Sen. Richardville announces creation of 185 jobs for southeastern Michigan
LANSING — Sen. Randy Richardville today announced that Tenneco Automotive Operating Company Inc. will create 185 jobs in southeastern Michigan during the next year.
The company will receive a Standard Employment Tax Credit valued at $1.8 million over the next seven years. The credit was approved by the Michigan Economic Growth Authority Board.
“I am pleased that Tenneco Automotive was selected to receive this tax credit,” said Richardville, R-Monroe. “The company’s decision to consolidate its operations will provide economic growth opportunities and much-needed jobs for southeastern Michigan.”
Tenneco Automotive Operating Company Inc. manufactures emission control components for gas, hybrid and diesel-powered vehicles. The company plans to invest up to $15.6 million to consolidate its facilities in the United States. Facilities in Monroe, Grass Lake, Marshall and Litchfield will focus on design, engineering and manufacturing of diesel emission products.
The project is estimated to produce 684 jobs by 2010. Currently, Tenneco employs 1,461 individuals in Michigan.
