Sen. Richardville to serve on Council of State Governments Midwestern Legislative Conference committees
LANSING—Sen. Randy Richardville has been appointed by Senate Majority Leader Mike Bishop to serve as a member of Council of State Governments’ Midwestern Legislative Conference.
As a member of the Economic Development Committee and Energy Committee for 2009-2010, Richardville will work with state lawmakers from across the Midwest to address regional policy concerns on these issues.
“I am pleased to take on this leadership role as a committee member of the Midwestern Legislative Conference,” said Richardville, R-Monroe. “The purpose of this group is to help state lawmakers from the Midwest discuss common problems and exchange policy ideas. Through our collaboration, we hope to improve both the operation of state governments and the standard of living within the region.”
The Midwestern Legislative Conference is made up of legislatures in 11 states, including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.
“While serving in the Michigan Legislature, Senator Richardville has been involved with several significant economic development and energy legislative proposals,” said Bishop, R-Rochester. “As a Midwestern Legislative Conference committee member, Richardville will interact with colleagues from neighboring states and weigh in on these important issues at the regional level.”
