Photo Advisory: Sen. Jansen, colleagues talk about MBT surcharge phase-out
September 25, 2008 - Sen. Mark C. Jansen, R-Gaines Township, chair of the Senate MBT Impact Assessment Subcommittee, participated in a media roundtable with Senate Majority Leader Michael D. Bishop Thursday to discuss two bills that amend the Michigan Business Tax Act. The measures save the state tens of millions of dollars and help remove barriers to growth and employment. Senate Bill 1242, sponsored by Jansen, would phase out the MBT surcharge. The bill was approved by the Michigan Senate Finance Committee.
