Photo Advisory: Sen. Jansen’s legislation to encourage groceries to sell more nutritious foods signed into law
Sen. Mark C. Jansen, R-Gaines Township, today joined the governor at the Capitol as she signed his legislation to help provide residents across the state with adequate access to grocery stores selling fresh meat, fruits and vegetables. Public Act 231 of 2008, sponsored by Senator Jansen, allows local units of government to offer tax abatements for up to 10 years for grocery stores expanding or locating in redeveloping areas.
