BRIEF: The subcommittee held hearings in Grand Rapids, Oakland County, Saginaw and Gaylord to hear directly from business owners and taxpayers for ways to improve the new Michigan Business Tax.
The MBT replaced the widely despised Single Business Tax last year. Since the inception of the new tax, the Senate Finance Committee has heard copious testimony that the tax is unduly harming small businesses.
