Sen. Richardville recognized by firefighters for legislative service

LANSING-Sen. Randy Richardville was recently recognized in Bay City by the Michigan Professional Fire Fighters Union with its first-ever President’s Award for Outstanding Legislative Service.

“We want to thank Sen. Richardville for his strong support of our union,” said Paul Hufnagle, president of the organization.  “He has been a great legislative ally and has helped protect and maintain collective bargaining.”

The union was established in 1934 and is Michigan’s largest professional, career firefighters organization, representing more than 5,000 members.

“Michigan is fortunate to have an outstanding group of firefighters to protect our families and communities,” said Richardville, R-Monroe.  “They deserve our utmost appreciation for the important work that they do.  I am proud to offer my support, and I’m honored to receive this award.”

Collective bargaining is the process whereby workers organize collectively and bargain with employers regarding the workplace.
