LETTER: GOP LEADERSHIP HAS DELIVERED

In the past two elections the hard working men and women overwhelmingly selected Republican leadership in Lansing to reverse the downward course Michigan endured during Jennifer Granholm's eight years as governor. They demanded a state government led by people who share their priorities and who work as hard as they do - and the Republicans have delivered real results.

Senate Majority Leader Randy Richardville's "2012 Legislative Report" A Citizen's Guide to State Government Honoring All Who Served

Citizen's Guide to State Government

Honoring All Who Served

What a difference a year makes! From a massive $1.5 billion budget deficit in 2011 to a modest budget surplus this year, Michigan is again moving in the right direction. Getting the state's fiscal house in order has been a top priority in our plan to restore opportunity and a brighter future for Michigan. Government efficiency, responsible budgeting and reforms to address current and future obligations instead of kicking the can down the road have all led to an improved outlook for our state. By working together, we can keep the momentum going and build a Michigan that people come home to - not a place they leave for work. This Legislative Report summarizes some of our work.

It is important in a democracy that citizens help keep their legislators informed. In order to be true representatives of the people, legislators need to know the thinking of their constituents on those issues upon which decisions will be made, and the facts on which such thinking and conclusions are based. As a citizen, you can help insure good legislation on state and national levels by communicating with your elected representatives at the proper time.

Whether in quiet reflection or public ceremony, this month we pause to remember and honor America's true heroes - our nation's servicemen and women.
