LANSING — Sen. Goeff Hansen, R-Hart, recently testified before the Senate Transportation Committee about his measure allowing the secretary of state to use the Pure Michigan brand or a similar brand as part of the standard design for vehicle registration plates.
According to Hansen, Senate Bill 1180 is a long-term way to reinforce the state’s successful Pure Michigan campaign. Hansen brought his proposal to the attention of both the Michigan Economic Development Corporation and the secretary of state in the spring of 2011.
