LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Joe Hune, R-Hamburg, announced Monday that he has returned $12,676.67 to the state of Michigan in unspent money from his official operating budget in 2015.
“I’ve always made it a priority to spend taxpayer dollars wisely,” Hune said. “I believe that we should budget responsibly and when we can save the taxpayers money, we should do so. I’m proud to have saved taxpayers $12,676.67 this past fiscal year.
“I will continue to fight for responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and I will continue to lead by example on ending wasteful spending.”
