Sen. Judy K. Emmons of Sheridan, who serves on the Michigan Senate Committee on Military Affairs, Veterans and Homeland Security, has introduced legislation to honor veterans by expanding Michigan’s military veterans’ commemorative license plates to include plates for motorcycles.
The legislation, Senate Bill 214, “will recognize the veterans for their service to our state and nation,” Emmons said.
The measure is supported by the National American Legion Riders, the Patriot Guard, ABATE of Michigan Inc,, and many other veterans’ organizations.
Sen. Emmons will join the American Legion Riders as they host a Vegas Games and Pizza Party for veterans at the John Dingell VA Hospital in Detroit on Saturday afternoon. The senator will serve as a volunteer during the party.
Emmons will be available for an on-the-record news briefing at 1:30 p.m. at the hospital.
