LANSING—During a panel discussion on school reform in Novi, state Sen. Patrick Colbeck called for the need to improve Michigan education.
“The status quo is not preparing our children to be successful in the 21st century,” said Colbeck, R-Canton. “We need to face this issue with a determination to provide our students with the best education in the world.”
Colbeck is a member of the Senate Education Committee and former charter school board member. The panel was part of the Board Development Series sponsored by the Center for Charter Schools at Central Michigan University.
One of the goals of the series is to strengthen educators’ ability to provide high quality educational programs that prepare students for success in college, work and life.
