LANSING, Mich. — On May 26, the Michigan Senate will join with the families of fallen soldiers from our state to remember and pay tribute to those who gave their lives defending our country.
This year’s 22nd Annual Senate Memorial Day Service will be hosted by state Sen. Patrick Colbeck, R-Canton.
“I am blessed to have the opportunity to join my colleagues in honoring the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country,” said Sen. Colbeck. “There is no greater love than to lay one’s life down on behalf of a friend. Whether we know them personally or not, our freedom is a tribute to many such friends throughout the history of this great nation.”
The service will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. in the Michigan Senate chamber, and it will feature current and former military personnel, representatives from military posts, and families of fallen soldiers throughout the state.
Senator Colbeck is available for interviews about the Memorial Day Service and opportunities to share about its importance for our state and local communities.
