Action in response to undercover footage of organization appearing to sell fetal tissue
LANSING, Mich. — In response to national news that an anti-abortion activist group obtained undercover footage of Planned Parenthood Senior Director of Medical Services Dr. Deborah Nucatola, allegedly selling fetal tissue and organs, Sen. John Proos, R-St. Joseph, released the following statement:
“Life is the most precious gift on earth and not a commodity to be bought and sold.
“This recently released undercover video seems to show that this non-profit organization engaged in the illegal trade of human tissue and organs.
“I am supportive of the actions of Senator Phil Pavlov in calling on the Michigan Departments of Health and Human Services and Licensing and Regulatory Affairs to launch formal investigations into Planned Parenthood affiliates across Michigan to determine whether or not any Michigan-based facilities have participated in the horrifying sale of babies’ body parts.
“Human beings should never be treated as a source for potential profit for greedy individuals, we must do whatever we can, to end this type of activity.”
