LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Joseph Bellino, R-Monroe, welcomed Ben Negron to the Michigan Capitol on Wednesday night as his guest for Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s 2024 State of the State address.

Negron has been a resident of Adrian for more than 40 years and is the store director at the Meijer in Adrian. He received the 2022 Fred Meijer Award, which is given annually to an individual who embodies the values and mission set forth by company founder Fred Meijer, including leadership based in humility, generosity and a passion for serving others. The award is the highest-level recognition a Meijer employee can receive.

Last year, the Adrian City Commission gave Negron a proclamation congratulating Negron for earning the award and praising him for his many years of community service and advocacy work throughout the Adrian area.
