LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Judy Emmons, R-Sheridan, (left) and Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, (right) welcome U.S. Army veteran Herb Becker of Marion and his wife Terri to the Michigan Capitol. The senators awarded Becker, who is a constituent of Emmons, with a Vietnam veteran lapel pin on Wednesday, Feb. 10.
The symbolism attached to the Vietnam veteran lapel pins is significant. The pins honor all Vietnam veterans, whether they served in-country, in-theater, or were stationed elsewhere during the Vietnam War period.
