LANSING, Mich. – The City of Albion and the Mayor’s Youth Leadership Council honored Sen. Mike Nofs, R-Battle Creek, with a proclamation recognizing him as a Diversity Champion in the City of Albion.

“It’s a true honor to be recognized by the young people of Albion,” said Nofs. “The Albion community has made several tough decisions about the education of their children the last few years and in doing so have set an outstanding example for our state.”

Nofs has been instrumental in assisting with state appropriations to support the school consolidation efforts in Albion and nearby Marshall. He has remained an active participant in community initiatives surrounding the changes and has been a vocal supporter of improving the opportunities for the children of Albion.
