The Lone Wolverine Exhibit visits the Capitol.
Tuesday, March 12
Ground floor, Michigan Capitol
On March 12, Sen. Mike Green will be joined by special guests Sen. Phil Pavlov, Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Director Keith Creagh and Jeff Ford “The Wolverine Man” in unveiling “The Lone Wolverine” traveling exhibit to Michigan legislators, staff and visitors, at 9:30 a.m. in the ground floor rotunda of the Capitol.
The exhibit showcases Michigan’s last known wolverine. For more than 200 years, the last verified sighting of a wolverine in Michigan was commonly believed to be by fur traders around the turn of the 18th century. That all changed in February 2004 when the exhibited wolverine was discovered by a group of coyote hunters in Huron County.
For more information regarding the unveiling, visit www.statesenatormikegreen.com or call Green’s office at (517) 373-1777. The 31st Senate District includes Arenac, Bay, Huron, Sanilac and Tuscola counties.
