LANSING, Mich. — Michigan Senate Majority Floor Leader Mike Kowall (second from right) and Delta Dental of Michigan presented a $500 grant to Novi Woods Elementary School in honor of March is Reading Month.
“Thanks to Delta Dental for their generous grant of $500 awarded to Novi Woods Elementary for their library and media center,” said Kowall, R-White Lake. “This grant will help further the successful learning environment of the entire school.”
Kowall entered Delta Dental’s annual reading contest on behalf of all the schools that he read to during March is Reading Month. Novi Woods Elementary was chosen for the grant.
“Novi Woods is grateful to Senator Kowall and Delta Dental for their support of our library and media center,” said Novi Woods Elementary School Principal David Ascher. “Having quality resources to help teach students to read is a team effort, and learning to read really does open the entire world for our young people. Your generous donation will help inspire the entire school.”
Teri Battaglieri, director of communications, corporate citizenship and philanthropy for Delta Dental, said the company was honored to work with Kowall and Novi Woods.
“Delta Dental is proud to partner with Senator Kowall to help promote children’s literacy and good dental health habits,” Battaglieri said. “We hope this grant will further encourage interest in reading among Novi Woods Elementary School students.”
