LANSING, Mich. — Sen. Jim Stamas was recognized on Tuesday as 2016 Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Manufacturers Association (MMA) in recognition of his leadership on behalf of manufacturers in Michigan.
“It’s an honor to be recognized for supporting Michigan manufacturing, which is the foundation of our economy — employing thousands of workers and generating billions of dollars in revenues for local communities, schools and the entire state,” said Stamas, R-Midland. “As we look to continue Michigan’s recovery, it is important that we have a positive environment that enables our manufacturers to thrive and grow. While it is great to be recognized for our efforts, the true reward is seeing an improved state that is creating jobs and opportunities.”
MMA President and CEO Chuck Hadden presented the award to Stamas during the MMA’s 2016 Legislative Reception in Lansing.
“I want to thank the Michigan Manufacturers Association and its members for their dedication to our state, and I look forward to working with them as we continue moving Michigan forward,” Stamas said.
