LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Joe Hune, R-Hamburg, received a 91 percent conservative rating from the American Conservative Union Foundation for the 2015 session of the Michigan Senate.
“Keeping spending low, defending our communities and maintaining government integrity are all things I came to Lansing to fight for,” Hune said. “I’m glad my record of opposing unnecessary spending and fighting to reduce the tax burden on the hardworking residents of our state has been recognized by one of the leading conservative organizations in America.”
The American Conservative Union Foundation rated all members of the Michigan Legislature based on votes of the 2015 session. The legislators with the highest scores voted most consistently with the U.S. Constitution by making government limited and transparent, protecting individual rights, ensuring personal responsibility, and promoting a healthy culture.
Hune previously was named the “Most Conservative” member of the Legislature for the 2015 session by Inside Michigan Politics.
