State Sen. Goeff Hansen kicked off “March is Reading Month” by visiting students in Mona Shores and Muskegon Heights on March 4.
“Reading to children at a young age has been shown to generate an interest in learning, a creative spirit and a confidence in academic ability later in life,” said Hansen, R-Hart. “It also provides an opportunity for families to communicate and bond with one another.”
In an effort to promote the importance of reading with children of all ages, Hansen will be reading to hundreds of students at local elementary schools throughout the 34th Senate District during “March is Reading Month.”
