LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Ken Horn, R-Frankenmuth, stands with the family of Navy SEAL and Senior Chief Special Warfare Operator John Marcum as Gov. Rick Snyder signs Senate Bill 51 into law — officially designating a portion of highway I-75 in Genesee County to be known as the “John Wayne ‘Dusty’ Marcum Memorial Highway.”

“It was an honor and a truly humbling experience to work on this legislation,” Horn said. “John was a true American hero and this small gesture will serve as a reminder of the courage and honor he served with on a daily basis.”

Horn also extended a special thanks to Marcum’s close friend Jim Johnston for bringing the issue to his attention and recommending the legislation.
