LANSING— Sen. Judy Emmons welcomes the 2011 Central Michigan University women’s volleyball team to the Michigan Senate. The team was recognized by Emmons during session for winning the team’s first ever Mid-American Conference (MAC) tournament championship and earning its first post-season bid to the NCAA Tournament.
“I am especially proud that this team accomplished this all while boasting a 3.49 GPA,” said Emmons, R-Sheridan. “In their achievements in the classroom and on the court, they have truly personified what is means to be a student-athlete.”
Pictured with Emmons (center) and the team are Head Coach Erik Olson (center left); coaches Dave Zelenock, Rodnei Santos and Theresa Beeckman; CMU Executive Associate Director of Athletics Marcy Weston (far right); and CMU Associate Director of Academic Services Tera Albrecht (right).
