LANSING — State Sen. Judy Emmons announced Tuesday that she is holding a “Season of Giving” drive in Isabella County during the holidays to collect donations of mittens, gloves, hats and canned food for local families in need.
“Michigan winters can be harsh, and unfortunately some mid-Michigan residents struggle to put food on the table and keep their families warm,” said Emmons, R-Sheridan. “Thanksgiving and Christmas bring about a season of giving, so I am sponsoring a donation drive at my district office in Mt. Pleasant.”
The 33rd District Office is located in the Labelle Building at 405 S. Mission St., Suite D in Mt. Pleasant. Guests are encouraged to park on the northeast side of the building and enter through the side door.
Emmons’ Season of Giving donation drive is taking place from Tuesday, Nov. 20 through Dec. 17. Residents can drop off mittens, gloves, hats and canned food at the district office on Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“This season of giving is also a moment of reflection for us to appreciate our many blessings and give what we can to those in need,” Emmons said. “The generosity of our community can help ensure the season is bright for every mid-Michigan family.”
